Not only creative, he has color work used by MPEG to examine new video standards. He is co-author of A Perceptual EOTF for Extended Dynamic Range Imager and author of Breaking Out of the 100-nit Box: A Colorist’s View of Grading HDR which he presented at SMPTE.
Shane is a sought after interview and consultant. Recently he was a guest presenter at Deluxe Toronto and in New York at Dolby’s Future of HDR summit where his concept of the “100nit box” became a touchstone for the all-star panel discussion.

Shane resides in Dolby Laboratories’ Advanced Technology Group as the Advanced Imaging Systems Creative Lead within the office of the CTO where he is enabling creative workflows for next generation media experiences. He’s called upon as a “Subject Matter Expert Speaker” for Dolby Vision. His days are never dull as he manages the Innovation Theater, oversees 3 studios, and presents technology demonstrations for Dolby ATMOS, Dolby Vision, and Color Grading at industry events, and for VIP guests. He also applies his multi-hat wardrobe to the pre-production, production and post-production needs of Dolby Marketing, Broadcast and Imaging departments. As if that were not enough, he is the resident “golden-eye” and guinea-pig for Dolby’s Applied Vision Science Group.
